Serving the Children of the World

Our club participates in a variety of projects for fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:

  • Baltimore North Cluster Food Bank
  • Food for Thought - a weekend-meals program by Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) Food Bank
  • Baltimore Science Fair - a juried competition for middle school and high school students:
    • The Baltimore Science Fair is a juried competition for middle school and high school students.  This event is held at Towson University.  The students present their project on the Saturday, and the awards ceremony is on the Sunday afternoon.  The winners go on to compete in the International Competition.  Mr. Robert Bufano chairs this event.
  • Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital
  • Johns Hopkins Children's Center
  • Scouting for Food - for ACTC Food Bank
  • Gunpowder Valley Conservancy - Tree planting, trail maintenance, etc.
  • Baltimore Area Special Hockey
  • Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council Team Sponsorship
  • McCormick Employee Appreciation Gala - Fundraiser:
    • Our Club conducts gaming at this grand event from 12N to 4pm.  We run betting wheels and raffles, with cash and sports paraphernalia for prizes.  This is a fund-raiser for our Club.  For staffing, we need adults to run the gaming, and to sell raffle tickets throughout the crowd. Dinner is free for our group.
  • Towson Festival Food Booth - a fund-raiser for Towson University CKI, a Service Leadership Program
    • Our club helps TU CKI to run a hot dog and hamburger food booth at the annual Towson Festival on the first weekend in May.  Our booth is located in the beer garden between the old and new courthouses.  This is a collaborative fundraiser with various Towson University clubs and volunteers from local organizations all helping to staff the booth.
  • Share the Treats - a distribution of excess Halloween candy to local organizations throughout the Baltimore area, by Dulaney High School Key Club.
    • DHS Key Club members collect the candy from the local elementary schools, after Halloween each year, then sort and repackage the candy for many food banks, nursing homes, assisted living residences, shelters, etc., in the Baltimore area.
